What is FIP?

Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is a viral disease that affects cats. It is caused by the feline coronavirus (FCoV), which is a common virus in cats. In most cases, the virus does not cause any symptoms, but in some cases, it can mutate and cause FIP.

FIP is a serious and often fatal disease that can affect a cat's internal organs, including the liver, spleen, and abdominal cavity. There are two forms of FIP: the wet form and the dry form. Wet FIP is characterized by the accumulation of fluid in the abdomen or chest, while dry FIP is characterized by the formation of granulomas (lumps of cells) in various organs.
